And I must tell you, it's not easy to find a title every single day. Today it is very difficult because nothing special has happened. So I remembered the very nice phrase I learned hear in England. It is used when someone asks you how you are. "Oh, actually, not too bad." I think it's a variety of "fine", "okay". But I have written enough about these rhetoric questions.
So, what happened (or not happened) today:
It started with EU Law. As I said yesterday I haven't had much to read, but it was boring. I hope that it will be better sometime in the future. At least I know that I don't want to work for the EU. Although they might have interesting aspects too.
Sometime I was finished with it. "Wohooo!" I have to answer the question, but for the next two days I don't have to look at it.
Since I worked quite well I didn't want to start with Criminal Law immediately. And fortunately was the weather better than predicted. It was quite sunny, even though a little bit chilly. But it's never too cold, you only wear too thin clothes, isn't it?
I didn't wear too thin clothes. I am maybe a little bit stupid sometimes (like sleeping with wet hair), but I know how to treat me when I am a little bit ill. So I dressed in many layers and cycled to town. To go by bike has two advantages:
- I am faster because it isn't as steep as it looks.
- I am not able to buy as much as when I walk because I have only my little basket and my backpack.
Firstly, I went to the music shop again and got one of the music books for my violin lesson. Really difficult pieces of music in there, I must say. The other one (Mozart duets, but easy ones) wasn't there, so they will order it and call me as soon as they get it, probably Tuesday.
Then I cycled a little bit of my way back because I knew it is not a good idea to cycle through the centre on a Saturday and so I left my bike on I nice spot just a little bit outside. It's practical because there are places where I can lock it and I don't have to worry about all the people walking around.
The next things I had to get were CDs, plastic pockets (= Klarsichthüllen) and a pen to write on the CDs. Why? Because that's the way I have to hand in my course works: I have to print it out, but I also have to copy it on a CD because they want to test if it is plagiarism. A little bit complicated as most of the procedures here in England. Surprisingly, you get used to it with a little bit of time.
Luckily, I also got gloves and a bandana thing in a nice outdoor shop. (A different one) It gets really cold when you go by bike, especially on the fingers and ears. But now I am equipped.
I ate at Wox (you remember? my favorite chinese take-away), better to say, I ate on the opposite side of the street on a nice bench because inside it was too full and it was nice and sunny outside.
My last quest was a pair of boots. I don't really need it yet and I am not sure if I will need it, but here in England it is more a accessory to wear boots. Everyone does and I don't know why. I won't do it now, it's not cold enough (although it will be colder next week), but you never know, do you?
However, I tried and tried and tried, I didn't look at the price or the style or the colour or the brand. Nothing, the best pair was in a really expensive boutique, but they had high heels and I am not sure if I can cycle with them, so I went with empty hands. It was a really nice day in town, but my unability to find a pair of fitting boots shadowed all of it. I want to have a Köstinger here in England!!! Or a shoe shop with really nice and experienced staff. Or a shop were I don't have to ask for this pair in my size all the time, it's so annoying!
Since I wasn't lucky enough, I went home and actually began with Criminal law. Despite it isn't really new yet, it is quite interesting and I have to learn a lot of new words. Tomorrow I will hopefully finish it during the morning hours because I want to begin with the questions and I have to read a little bit about natural law until Thursday. That's the main plan for tomorrow: Working, working, working.
I hope you will have nicer things to do on your Sunday!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
XO Florentina
PS: It gets indeed easier and easier to write in English! :)
